기도 카드

제 어린 시절에는 이메일이나 문자는 없고, 모든 것이 우편으로 발송하거나 직접 전달하는 편지와 카드가 마음을 전달하는 유일한 방법이었습니다. 

동성이든 이성이든 친구에게 마음을 전하고 싶을 때는 평소와는 달리 고운 색상의 편지지나 예쁜 카드를 사서 마음을 담은 글을 손으로 써서 전달했습니다. 한꺼번에 여러 친구들에게 편지를 쓰는 경우에도 어차피 손으로 베껴 써야 했기 때문에, 기본 템플릿이 있더라도 그 친구 상황에 맞는 애드리브를 반영해서 글을 썼습니다.

 

교회의 여러 모임의 단톡방에서 기도 제목이 있을 때마다 서로 마음을 담은 메시지들을 단톡방에 올리는데, 어떤 때는 '혼자 기도하면 되지 굳이 그 기도 내용을 메시지로 올려야 하나?'라는 생각도 들지만, 어떤 때는 다른 분들이 올린 기도 메시지의 내용이 너무 좋아서 같은 마음으로 기도를 하게 되기도 합니다. 그저 기도하는 마음으로 그 기도문들을 따라 읽는 방식으로 기도를 하기도 합니다.

 

기도를 할 때 기도문을 적는 방식이 마음과 생각을 하나님께 정렬하기에 좋은 경우가 많습니다.

우리가 어떤 방식으로든 서로를 위해 기도할 때 성령께서 위로하시고 새로운 힘을 주실 것을 믿습니다. 

조용한 기도뿐만 아니라 크게 소리 내어 울부짖는 기도와, 카드나 메시지에 적은 기도를 모두 들으시며 하나님의 뜻에 따라 응답하실 것을 믿습니다.

 

In my childhood, there was no email or texting, everything was mailed or hand-delivered, and letters and cards were the only way to communicate my feelings. 
If you wanted to tell a friend, whether of the same or opposite gender, you would go out of your way to buy some lovely colored letter papers or a pretty card and handwrite your heartfelt words. Even if I were writing to a bunch of friends at once, I'd still have to handwrite it, so even if I had a basic template, I'd personalize it to fit their situation.

Whenever we have a prayer request in our church's various groups, we post heartfelt messages in the group, and sometimes I think, "Why do I need to post that prayer in a message when I can just pray on my own?" But other times I love the content of other people's prayer messages so much that I feel like I'm praying along with them, and I just read along with them in a prayerful spirit.

Often, the way we write our prayers down is good for aligning our hearts and minds with God.
When we pray for each other in any way, we trust the Holy Spirit to comfort and renew us. 
We trust that God hears both silent prayers and prayers cried out loud, as well as prayers written in cards or messages and that He will answer them according to His will.
